Collocation and OperationAdvice on Roman Blinds Making
FOLDABLE PANEL
It consists of a folding curtain made of polyester, 100% acrylic or thermosealed cloth, easily adjustable to your windows’ size.
KIT SYSTEMS
This product includes everything you need to make your own Roman blinds, except for the fabric. It includes a lacquered support, Velcro (male and female), a counterweight with powder-coat finish, a cord locking device, cord guides, cord guide tape, a bottom ring, middle rods with powder-coat finish, and an end pull.
Kit measurements: from 60 cm to 220 cm, every 10 cm.
Collocation
The system can be screwed either to the wall, the ceiling or the rolling shutting cover, since the wooden support has holes in the front and inferior sides and therefore allow the screws to pass in both horizontal and vertical directions correspondingly.

Operation
As regards the cord system and locking device, which allows you to lift the curtain and lock it at the height you want (step 3), it works by pulling the cord down –making the curtain fold up to the height you want- and then pulling it slightly to the inside of the room, thus activating the locking device. To lower it, you only need to gently pull down the cord to unlock the device and then softly release it.

Adaptation
The cord system can be placed either on the right or left side of the curtain. To change it from one side to the other you only need to remove the cords that pass through the locking device, unscrew the locking device (the screw that holds the device is located on the back of the wooden support), remove it from the track and place it again in the track at the other side, screw it back and pass the cords again.

What happens if standard measurements do not exactly fit the customer’s window?
Decor Roman Blinds Systems can be easily reduced, in width (up to 10cm) or length (unlimited).
To make the curtain smaller in width, you need to cut with a small saw the wooden support (MDF / fiberboard) and the inside rods of the curtain. It is advisable that all additional holes that the customer wants to make in the support -to rearrange the accessories or add others- are made with a hole making machine.
Useful tips when making a Roman Blind
1. To calculate the amount of fabric needed, you should buy some extra fabric so as to be able to make the hem. It is desirable to leave extra 15cm of the measurement that you want to cover with the curtain. With this quantity you can make double lateral hems of 3.5cm on each side, a double lower hem of 5cm and a superior 2cm hem where Velcro will be sewed. If you want to achieve full darkness, besides using a thick fabric you need to calculate extra 10cm of the opening measurements.
2. You need to pay special attention to the fabric cut, since being a flat curtain it is extremely important for the fabric to be at right angles. You can, for example, cut it following the fabric weave -if the chosen fabric allows you to do so-.
3. The position of the horizontal inside rods should be marked, considering that is the place where the cord guide tapes that allow for the rods to be placed inside the curtain will be sewed. Distance between rods can be gradual (for example 25, 35 and 45cm between each, top-down) so that when the curtain is folded it looks like a cascade. If the distance is the same between all rods (for example 30cm), when the curtain is lifted only one fold will be seen, and all the others will be behind.
4. The guide tapes should be sewed at the chosen places, as well as the hems (the lower hem should have a small opening to be able to introduce a weight at the end) and the female Velcro at the top. It is very important for the guide tapes to be straight –at right angles- or the curtain will be crooked when lifted. In addition, it is important to remember to leave small openings on one of the ends of the guide tapes to be able to introduce and withdraw the metal rods.
5. The final rings should be sewed on the lower end with a small loop. The quantity of rings depends on the quantity of eyelets the curtain system (support) has.
6. Take the cord and make a small knot to the final rings, and then thread them up through the guide tapes. It is very important that they are at right angles with respect to the eyelets.
7. To calculate cord length, you must consider the curtains’ height and how long you want the cord system –used to handle the curtain- to be. You should not forget that the cord on the opposite side of the locking device should be longer than the other, the same length of the distance between eyelets.
8. The cord is then passed through the eyelets and the tips through the locking device, which should have been unscrewed and removed beforehand.
9. Once the cords are passed, they should be pulled so that the tips are even and pass through the end pull. A small knot is tied inside the end pull, and it is closed.
